About the event

Come and train with us to become an Oliver McGowan Autistic Co-Trainer: A chance to make a difference!

This training is 3 days and the training days are 17th, 18th and 19th February 2026.

What is Oliver McGowan Training?

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death highlighted the need for health and social care staff to have better skills, knowledge and understanding of the needs of autistic people and those with a learning disability. In July 2022, the Health and Care Act introduced a requirement for health and social care employees to receive training on learning disabilities and autism - with the Oliver McGowan training being the preferred route.

This is an amazing opportunity to influence how care is delivered to all people, by providing health and social care staff with the knowledge skills and empathy they need to make a difference.
